Build a playbook with the AI Playbook Builder

Last updated: 2 October 2026

The AI Playbook Builder guides you through creating a playbook from your existing materials and instructions. It asks questions where your documents do not provide a clear answer.

You need permission to create a playbook in the selected workspace.

Watch the walkthrough

Start the build

  1. Open the workspace where the playbook should live.
  2. Select New Playbook.
  3. Choose the AI chat option.
  4. Identify the agreement type and whether you are reviewing your own template or third-party paper.

Add supporting material

Upload the documents that best represent your intended position. These may include:

  • an existing playbook or contracting guidance;
  • a marked-up agreement showing your preferred changes;
  • an executed agreement showing an accepted outcome; or
  • your organisation’s template.

Tell the builder which document should take priority if the materials conflict.

The builder creates the playbook in the language of the source material. You can upload more supporting documents than the previous playbook builder allowed.

Answer the builder’s questions

Decide how DraftPilot should handle gaps in the source material. You may be asked whether to propose fallbacks, suggest responses to uncovered issues or add escalation rules. The video creates AI-generated fallbacks, allows AI options for issues the playbook does not cover and adds an instruction to escalate cyber, data-protection and security points to IT.

Choose the options that match the way your team wants to handle fallbacks, uncovered issues and escalations.

Review and save

When the playbook is ready, save it. You can edit or refine it later.

If the builder saves an unfinished version as a draft, return to the draft to continue rather than starting a duplicate build.
