Customise a playbook review

Last updated: October 27, 2026

You can focus a playbook review on the clauses or risks that matter for the contract or the deal scenario. There are several ways to narrow the review: select specific playbook sections before generating redlines, filter a completed review by risk or use AI Chat with the playbook attached.

Select which clauses to review

Use a customised review when you know which parts of the contract need attention and do not need to run the complete playbook.

  1. Open the contract in Word and open DraftPilot.
  2. Select the relevant workspace and playbook.
  3. Select Start Review, then choose Redlines.
  4. Confirm which party you represent.
  5. Open the customised review section.
  6. Select the playbook sections you want DraftPilot to review.
  7. Generate the redlines.

DraftPilot reviews only the selected sections. Open each result to see the issue, the relevant playbook guidance and the proposed redline. You can then continue the review in the usual way.

Filter a full review by risk

If you have already run the full playbook, use the risk filters to narrow the results.

Select the high-risk filter when you want to deal with the most serious issues first. DraftPilot hides the other results from the current view while keeping the complete review available when you remove or change the filter. You can set the risk level of each issue in your playbook, or let DraftPilot assess it for you.

Use AI Chat for a targeted playbook review

Use AI Chat when you want to define the analysis and the output in more detail.

  1. Open AI Chat and add the playbook to the context window.
  2. Ask DraftPilot to review the contract against the playbook.
  3. State which issues it should return, such as high-risk or no-go positions.
  4. Ask it to include the preferred position and available fallbacks.

For example:

Review this contract against the attached playbook and show only the high-risk issues. For each issue, include the preferred position and available fallbacks.

DraftPilot can create suggested edits for the issues it identifies. Review each suggestion and apply the ones you want to the contract.
